The Kalmikoff & Krevulin Family
traces its origins to Shklov, a shtetl on the banks of the Dnieper River in the Mogilev province of Belarus. Our ancestors emigrated from Shklov at the turn of the 20th century, leaving behind their loved ones, in hopes of starting life anew in America; the land of opportunity, equality, and freedom. Speaking only Yiddish and with few personal belongings, six young adults made the voyage across the Atlantic Ocean and arrived at Ellis Island. They settled in Brooklyn, New York where they found work, married, had children and raised families. We are the descendants of Chaim Kalmikoff & Ruchel Krevulin Yirma Krevulin & Masha Ginsberg Leyzer Kalmikoff & Riva Leyka Nechamkin This website is dedicated in their memory, to tell their stories, their family's story and the stories of generations to come. |
